Empowerment technology is one of the senior high school subjects being taught in school to create a foundation in understanding the world of ICT (Information and Communication Technologies), understand and demonstrate the proper etiquette in using ICT, and more.
Technology can circumvent traditional processes and empower individuals through networks, information, and digital trade. Technology emboldens the notion of human rights, quite literally, with the touch of a hand.
As we saw how technology is being used in lessons and online sites, the group as a whole could say that we definitely agree with technology being used as a medium in transferring knowledge to the learners because it is fast and handy, especially during this pandemic.
It really has great help for us Grade 12 students because it can enhance the skill of the student in using technologies and especially for those who are planning to take up I.T. in their collegiate years. They can have greater and improved skills while studying it in their Senior High School years.
The majority of the group member has said that the subject definitely changed their lives and their way of perceiving ICT to the extremes. It encouraged not just us in our perception but also the other groups in our class to gain the skills and knowledge that allowed us to overcome the endless obstacles in each of our lives or work environments and ultimately, helped us develop our roles within society.
We have learned the things that needed an understanding of the technology and the safe use of it, we must be attentive in using the internet because each of us has learned that the internet is a powerful tool that can help or cramp us in the internet world. We have gained knowledge about the acronyms of internet use such as HMTL, XML, and RSS. Technologies also teach us and make us understand how lucky and special are generation is right now because today, technologies are very high-tech compared to the past generations. It can help us instantly with everything that we do or need.
Back in the old times, it is hard for them to search because they really do need to scan in the books or any article to find the answers that they need. Also, as a group, we have learned about the threats on the internet. Having this lesson really helped us become more aware because it taught us different ways on what to be done if we encountered one of these threats. We must be very careful about what we click on our social media sites and in the internet world itself. Because sometimes it may result in the destruction of one's personal identity.
For us ICT is leverage for each of us as a student to reach a higher goal in life since as we have experienced it, it helped us create our own form of reflection, letting us assume the role of someone in a higher position to design reflective questions for ourselves. As a group, our empowerment through technology we think is very obvious, as learners of the 21st Century, today's students live their lives surrounded by it. Our recommendation for it is for the government to prioritize ICT more to the constituents since it is very beneficial in the following years to come.
